3. School Volunteers Shall: *Complete the volunteer application process *Always sign in and out *Be in good physical and mental health *Receive rules and regulations *Be provided with proper supervision *Be assigned to staff members requesting service

Volunteers Should Not: *Assume responsibility for student supervision *Grade subjective student work *Assume responsibility for student discipline *Establish/implement instructional objectives *Contact parents regarding performance of students or make comments on papers *Bring a pre-school child with them when they volunteer *Discuss/share student information

6. Tips for Developing Volunteer/Teacher Relationships: *Communicate effectively and timely with the teacher *Be prompt, prepared, and professional *Be warm, friendly and courteous *Demonstrate integrity in following school procedures and expectations (check out procedures, parent drop off, personal conferences with teachers, cafeteria, etc…)

7. YOU ARE IMPORTANT/STUDENTS ARE WATCHING YOU! *Volunteers are expected to act as role models. When serving as a volunteer, the following inappropriate behaviors should be avoided: *use of profanity *use of drugs or alcohol *discussion of inappropriate topics *selling or actively promoting a business *wearing clothing considered inappropriate CONFIDENTIALITY REGARDING STUDENT PROGRESS, BEHAVIOR, OR SCHOOL RELATED INCIDENTS IS EXPECTED OF ALL VOLUNTEERS.
