Suggested answers on P 36 1, Excuse me, Sure, I’m sorry, That’s OK. 2, Excuse me, What is it, I’m sorry. 3, be careful, I’m so sorry. 4, What are you doing, I’m terribly sorry.

Step 2: New words & phrases 1, interrupt: to say something when sb else is speaking & cause them to stop e.g. Don’t interrupt me while I’m busy ! 2, apologize v, make an apology, say one is sorry apology n e.g. Apologize to your mother ! 3, introduce sb/sth to sb: make sb/sth known to sb else e.g. He introduced his friend to me.

4, mean to do sth: to plan or want to do sth e.g. Please forgive me, I didn’t mean to be rude. 5, make use of: use make good use of: use in the best way e.g. You should make good use of any opportunities to improve your English.
