Vanilla Pudding Recipe 1)Copy down the following recipe in your notebooks: 2)Label: Vanilla Pudding 1/3 cup sugar 2 T cornstarch 1/8 t salt 2 cups milk 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten 2 T butter 2 t vanilla extract Blend sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a 2-quart saucepan. Combine milk and egg yolks; gradually stir into sugar mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Cool slightly and chill. Serves 4

Time Management in the Kitchen or Laboratory Use time saving practices, such as gathering all supplies and equipment (mise en place), before starting meal. Use time saving equipment, such as blenders, food processors. Take some help from the store and buy pre-cut fruits and vegetables (prices will be more expensive). Complete advance preparation when possible. When chopping onions for one meal, chop an extra onion for another meal (freeze extras).
