volcanobook Mount RedoubtLogout WallInfoPhoosAbout Mount Redoubt is taking a nap… Photos About Me Last Eruption Well, I had been smoking since January, and here it was March when I couldn’t hold it in anymore. Have you ever felt like that before? Anyways, On March 15, 2009 I finally exploded, sending a huge cloud of ash into the air. When it was all said and done, my ash cloud reached 50,000 feet in the air! My lahar even took out a generator… oops! My 1989 eruption caused a lot more damage then this one, but that’s because of those crazy pilots flying into my ash cloud- how was I supposed to know I could cause $80 million in damage?!?!? Mostly all that came out in my eruption was water vapor and carbon dioxide. Less than 20% had sulfates in it, so I guess that’s pretty good.
