3 Pre-Assessment Do you own a personal computer? Do you own an I-Pod or other MP3 Player? Do you own a Personal Digital Assistant? Do you own a cell phone and do you “text”? What percent of your students own the above items? What percent of the above items are you using for instructional purposes with your students? Are you multi-tasking RIGHT NOW?

4 What percent of your students multi-task in class? How many times do you stop, start or repeat your instruction? How many hours a day do you believe your students are engaged in communication via technology? How many hours a day are you engaged with a single student?

5 Possibilities Why can’t we use all of the technology discussed in the Pre-Assessment to support and reinforce your instruction, whether it is Higher Education or K – 12 Education? 11 Electronic Communication and the Digital World – Web 2.0 Increase in Home Schooling continues to be a challenge and a loss of students in K – 12 Schools Tremendous increase in on-line college programs Check the statistics on some of the well known names of On-Line Universities Then look into traditional univerisities and find the number of on-line courses
