Reminders : Bell rings at 8:55 am Students need to be in class ready to learn by 9:00 am. All Students are issued an assignment book to write class, homework assignments, and other information each day. Student assignment books are used everyday.

Parents: Please be considerate and make sure your child knows ahead of time how he/she is going home everyday. This eliminates unnecessary interruptions in the learning and confusion at the end of the day.

Homework not turned in results in loss of recess

Unfinished Class work becomes homework

Please make sure your student has all necessary supplies every day

Technology/Writin g We will learn important technology skills including programs like PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher in the computer lab. We will also use our laptops in the classroom.

Science We will cover three important units in science using the Foss Science program: Variables Environments Mixtures and Solutions

Social Studies We will learn about U.S. History in its early years up to the events that led to the Civil War There will be class projects and written assignments you are expected to complete. We will also learn about CIVICS and how it impacts us. You will write an essay (CBA) in the spring about one of the issues in CIVICS

Social Studies: Students will be required to learn all of the state names and capitals

Classroom Rules: Follow directions the first time they are given Come prepared to do your personal very best Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself Treat others the way you want to be treated Listen respectfully when the teacher, another adult, or one of your peers is speaking. Respect yourself, others, and school property
