1)Looking at the work of Chris Garofalo, Kate Malone, Catrin Mostyn Jones, Cathy de Monchaux, Dale Chihuly, make a sculpture or vessel based on your observations of one of the following; Horse Chestnut Pepper A fruit/vegetable/natural object that has a strong colour form and contrast between the inside and outside.

2) Using the word “nucleus” as your starting point and looking at the work of Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Laszlo Moholy Nagy, Ernesto Neto, design a sculpture based on your explorations, using a combination of media of your choice.

3) The painting Joan Miro and the sculpture Alexander Calder, share a visual vocabulary that is characterised by strong colour and simple images. Look at their work, and then, using the images that you have collected, make a sculpture based around the ideas in their work.

4) Michael Ayrton produced a series of images and sculpture based on the ‘Icarus’ story. Explore his work and produce a sculpture in response to your findings. You should also look at the work of Antony Gormley, Glenys Barton, Leonard Baskin and Giacometti.

5) Sally Matthews, Henry Moore, Marino Marini, Elisabeth Frink as well as classical sculptures responsible for the Elgin Marbles use animal forms in various ways as inspirations for their sculptures. Collect your own images to work from and develop them into a 3D or relief outcome.
