Alabama Alternate Assessment Evidence Required
The following evidence in the subjects and grades listed below must be collected for local use and will not be scored for accountability purposes. Collect 3 pieces of evidence for each extended standard in science for grade 11. Collect 3 pieces of evidence for each extended standard in English for grades 10 and 11. Collect 3 pieces of evidence for each extended standard in writing for grade 10 and 11. *If the Local Education Agency (LEA) administers any optional subjects for the state assessments for which a student participating in the AAA cannot participate, you must collect 3 pieces of evidence for the subject(s) being assessed. Collect 3 pieces of evidence for each extended standard in reading for grades 11 and 12. Collect 3 pieces of evidence for each extended standard in mathematics for grades 11 and 12. Collect 3 pieces of evidence for each extended standard in locating information for grade 12.
7
Alabama Alternate Assessment Evidence Required
All evidence for the AAA must be posted into Engrade by May 6, 2016 by 5:00 p.m. CST for scoring. Engrade will close down automatically. Test Administrators do not have to click an additional submit button.
8
Alabama Alternate Assessment Evidence Required
All hard evidence that has been posted into Engrade and collected locally must be turned in for monitoring purposes to your LEA by May 13, 2016, 5:00 p.m. CST. Test administrators can print all hard copies and package it up in a box, envelope, etc. OR Test administrators can save all hard copies to a CD, DVD, or jumpdrive, LEA intranet, etc. and the device will need to be turned into the STC for storage.
9
Access to Engrade The System Test Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator will work together to grant access to Engrade. Building Test Coordinators, Administrators, and Test Administrators will be required to attend training on test security and sign The Alabama Alternate Assessment Ethics Statement before being granted access into Engrade. System Test Coordinators will be responsible for training of Test Security.
10
Access to Engrade The Principal or Assistant Principal is required to have access for evaluation purposes, but the Building Test Coordinator is optional. These positions will have limited access for granting access to the test administrator, checking and editing student rosters, and monitoring the progress of evidence being posted into Engrade. System Test Coordinators and Special Education Coordinators will be granted additional access to view and monitor the evidence posted for each individual student. Test Administrators (teachers) will be granted access to create rosters by grade and post evidence. Test Administrators (teachers) will be able to view, post, edit, and delete evidence per student.
11
AAA Procedures Manual for Engrade
The AAA Procedures Manual for Engrade and a video is available for step-by-step instructions on how to access, build student rosters, classes, post evidence, etc. on the Student Assessment Webpage under AAA in Related Documents. Procedures Manual: %20AAA%20Procedures%20Manual_PA%20final.pdf Engrade Video: ate%20Assessment%20Engrade%20Training%20Video.pdf
12
Class Rosters Class Rosters MUST be created with the test administrators name and grade. Examples: N. Pence Third Grade, Pence 4th grade, Nannette Pence Fifth Grade, etc. Class Rosters CAN NOT be separated into subjects. Examples: Reading Third Grade, Mathematics Third Grade, Reading Eighth Grade, Mathematics Eighth Grade, Or Pence Reading Third Grade, Pence Mathematics Third Grade, etc. Students listed in Engrade will have all extended standards listed for all subjects according to the grade of enrollment in iNOW.
13
Class Rosters Test Administrators should envision a complete body of evidence for all subjects for each student assigned to the class. Each student must have all evidence for reading, mathematics, and science (if applicable) posted in one area and not in separate listings or with multiple test administrators.
14
Student Transfers Transfer students will be handled by the Building Test Coordinator, System Test Coordinator, and/or the Special Education Coordinator. If a student transfers out of the LEA, the System Test Coordinator should contact Student Assessment for directions. Follow Procedures in the AAA Procedures Manual for Engrade %20AAA%20Procedures%20Manual_PA%20final.pdf A student’s BOE will not transfer at this time inside Engrade. Test Administrators should be prepared to transfer all of the student's BOE to the new school.
15
AAA Rubric and Minimum Evidence
Three pieces of evidence are required for all Extended Standards for reading, mathematics, and science according to the grade the student is enrolled in iNOW. A Rubric and Minimum Evidence document are provided for each subject by grade. Test Administrators should refer to these document when posting evidence. These documents are posted on the Student Assessment Webpage under AAA in Related Documents.
16
Five Ways to Submit Evidence
Written Performance Summary (built into Engrade) The following evidence must be uploaded into Engrade Worksheet Work Sample Pictures Audio/Video If providing pictures or audio/video, annotation is required. It may be provided on each individual picture, written in the Task Summary area or the Word-for-Word Transcript area.
17
Body of Evidence Cover Sheet & Written Performance Summary Sheet
These forms are built into Engrade. A Body of Evidence Coversheet is no longer required as a separate document. It is now built into Engrade and will automatically be completed by the test administrator when submitting evidence. For the Written Performance Summary Sheet, test administrators will make selections through the use of a drop down menu built into Engrade. Test Administrators will include a detailed description in the task summary area.
18
Body of Evidence Cover Sheet
For the Body of Evidence Cover Sheet, test administrators will make selections through the use of a drop down menu built into Engrade.
19
Written Performance Summary Sheet
Test administrators will make selections through the use of a drop down menu built into Engrade when selecting the Written Performance Summary Sheet. The WPS sheet found on the Student Assessment Webpage under AAA in Related Documents can be used to take notes or completed by another test administrator on a student’s performance on a task in his/her classroom. Test Administrators will include a detailed description in the task summary area. It is NOT necessary to also attach the WPS sheet in addition to completing the task summary area.
20
Written Performance Summary Sheet
If a test administrator has already attached/uploaded the WPS sheet into Engrade, there is no need to delete. (It will be fine as is!!) The test administrator can make the adjustment as he/she moves forward with uploading other evidence. Task Summary: Complete this section by simplistically explaining the task/activity in the following order: Relevant strength- a positive description of how the student is performing on a given task. (ex. Johnny eye gazes his answers because of his immobility.) Directions, materials and participants Sequencing the steps of the task/activity The student’s level of mastery
21
Three Levels of Assistance
Independent Prompting Support The student performs the task without prompting or support. The cognition of the task is performed entirely by the student. The student is provided cues by the teacher or aide (oral cues, repeat or additional directions, and/or gestures that initiate or sustain a task). The cognition of the task is performed entirely by the student The student receives direct instruction to achieve the skill. The cognition of the task is not performed by the student alone; however, the task is not completed by the teacher. This assistance is more than prompting.
22
Guidance for Selecting Good Evidence
To select the highest complexity level a student can work at, most independently, and receive the most mastery. All extended standards (ES) for the grade-level of enrollment according to INOW must be taught and tested. The evidence must be aligned to the extended standard. The activity must relate to the extended standard. Evidence that does not relate/match the standard will be given a score of “zero”. The link between the evidence and the extended standard must be clear.
23
Guidance for Selecting Good Evidence
A student should not have evidence submitted higher than Complexity Level 1 if the student fails to complete or perform on a task/activity. An accommodation is not a level of assistance. The test administrator must provide the student’s name on the evidence, and it should be included in the description of the student’s performance in the task summary area. The test administrator must state, in the area of reading, that the student read the story, passage, words, numbers, sounds, etc. (read aloud, signed, etc.). In the subject of reading the student must read at Complexity Levels 3 and 4 unless the extended standard/complexity level states the story can be read aloud or presented in alternative means.
24
SCORING Alignment determined-Yes, evidence is scored
Complexity- one to four points based on the complexity of the extended standard Assistance- one to three points based on the level of assistance given
25
CONTENT MASTERY 0 points earned for 0-24% mastery
1 point earned for 25-49% mastery 2 points earned for 50-74% mastery 3 points earned for % mastery
26
Reminder: All evidence for scoring must be posted into Engrade by May 1, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. CST.
