Art is: Nonrestrictiveness – artistic freedom, Human Enterprise (for all to enjoy), Communication (what the art piece tells us), and Medium of Expression (what they create with).

Political/Social Commentary – Social and political advances, sensitize viewers (EX: AIDS quilt, “American Pie”) 3. Therapy – Healing, Child Therapists – abused children draw what might be hard to talk about – series of drawings – follow them to see improvement or ways of progressive treatment. 4. Artifact – Senses a particular time and place. Represents culture and environment (Pyramids, Sistine Chapel, The Vietnam Memorial Wall)
