Appearence & Atmosphere Almost brand new!! Only 8 years old Very clean, simple style Mostly all tan with navy blue accents Has all the amenities Pool Theater 3 court gym Very open spacious common areas lots of glass to create open feeling Cafeteria is the heart of the school, completely open Lots of school spirit sport posters on walls lockers decorated

Student Body About 95% Caucasian Drop-out rate is less than 1% Nearly 60% of students attend a 4 yr. College or University Nearly all students are from middle-class families

Support Services The school has a guidence couseling office with 3 couselors The most populars reasons students visit their counselors are: Scheduling Grades College & Scholarship Information The Counselors receive their information about FL programs through communicating with the teachers and also Michigan Standards Couselors try to encourage all students they think can handle a FL class to take one, emphasizing importance for college applications DeWitt is also lucky enough to have an onsite Social Worker

More Info about DeWitt Grades 9-12 School population is roughly 500 with just over 100 in each grade There are just under 40 teachers The school has great athletics so their facilities are well kept and a lot of money goes into the department Very liberal atmosphere: Students are allowed to carry bookbags They can have food and drink in class Tardies are not strictly enforced Students often walking around halls

Even More Info! Block scheduling 4 1hr & 20 minute classes for 9 week periods School Day: 7:35am-2:27pm No subject or grade wings established in school Campus style location: Junior High School, Department of Transportation, sport fields, etc. all located together

Mrs. Marble’s Classroom 30 Desks are set up in twos to facilitate partner work Very clean with lots of posters on the walls (English and Spanish) Common Spanish phrases posted around the room ¿Cómo se dice…? No sé. Students’ presentations are also on display giving them a sense of pride and belonging in that class Very relaxed and comfortable feeling Classroom rules and procedures clearly on display

Mrs. Marble’s Facts She teaches FL because she always enjoyed learning a FL She didn’t have the opportunity to study abroad but has traveled to Mexico She definitely does not teach the way she was taught, but rather very differently The fundamentals of her teaching have not changed over the years, just little improvements and tweeks to her lessons to develop to her overall objective and philosophy She encourages a student lead learning style, giving her students lots of independence and responsibility
