Point of View Point of view is the perspective from which a story is narrated, or told. First-person point of view: First-person point of view: The narrator is a character who participates in the action and uses the first-person pronouns “I” and “me”. Third-person point of view: The narrator is not a character in the story but a voice outside it. The narrator uses the third-person pronouns he, she, him, her, they, and them to refer to all characters. third-person omniscient point of view In the third-person omniscient point of view, the narrator knows everything, including the thoughts of all the characters. third-person limited point of view In the third-person limited point of view, the narrator sees and reports things through one character’s eyes.

Point of View Activity Pick any story we’ve read this year: “The Most Dangerous Game” “Full Circle” “The Cask of Amontillado” “The Utterly Perfect Murder” “Powder” “The Scarlet Ibis” How would the story have been different if it was told from a different point of view? [ex: “MDG” from Zaroff’s POV] You need to list at least 3-4 differences and then explain how they would affect the story in a paragraph response.
