2 Categories Assessment For Learning (A for L) Assessment Of Learning (A of L) Making judgements on what pupils know, do and/or understand on an ongoing basis to inform what you are to teach next and how you might differentiate the work to meet their needs. A final judgement of their knowledge, ability and/or understanding often resulting in an end of module points, level or grade.

Statutory Assessment Key Stage 3 – One Level at the end of Yr9. Key Stage 4 – Recreational - No assessment. - To inform reporting. GCSE & BTEC - Course based marking.

Regularity is Often a Department Choice Challney Marking Policy – Key Stage 3 – 1 level per half term per sport. Ensure that all 4 strands are covered equally through the year. Key Stage 4 - 1 Practical Assessment each half term. 1 Theory formal test per half term (Recommended). 1 Mock exam in each year. 2-3 Analysis of Performance tests. Final assessments in Year 11.

Knowledge of Fitness & Health Explain why warming up before an activity is important, and why physical activity is good for your health. Explain and apply basic safety principles in preparing for exercise. Describe what effects exercise has on your bodies, and how it is valuable to your fitness and health. Explain how the body reacts during different types of exercise, and warm up and cool down in ways that suit the activity. Explain why regular, safe exercise is good for your fitness and health. Explain how to prepare for, and recover from activity. Explain how different types of exercise contribute to your fitness and health and describe how you can get involved in other types of activities and exercise. Explain the principles of practice and training, and apply them effectively. Explain the benefits of regular, planned activity on health and fitness and plan your own appropriate exercise and activity programme.
