LARSEN & TOUBRO LIMITED
L&T was founded in Bombay (Mumbai) in 1938 by two Danish engineers, Henning Holck-Larsen and Soren Kristian Toubro. L&T is a technology, engineering, construction, technology, manufacturing and financial services company. In 1944, ECC was incorporated by the partners; the company at this time was focused on construction projects (Presently, ECC is the construction division of L&T) Company Profile – ECC division

Towers The transmission towers are self –supporting hot dip galvanized lattice steel. Type designed to carry the line conductors with necessary insulators, earth wires and all fittings under all loading conditions. The tower should be fully galvanized using mild steel or high tensile steel sections as specified. Bolts and nuts with spring washer are to be used for connection. Galvanisation-Galvanization (or galvanisation) is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, in order to prevent rusting.

Different Tower Sections
8
Height Of A Transmission Tower
1. Minimum permissible ground clearance (H1) 2. Maximum sag of the conductor (H2) 3. Vertical spacing between top and bottom conductors (H3) 4. Vertical clearance between ground wire and top conductor (H4)
9
Classification of Towers
Type Of Tower Deviation Limit Typical Use A 0 deg. To be used as suspension tower B 0 deg.-15 deg. Tension tower for Earth wire. C 15 deg.-30 deg. To be used as section tower & for transposition of transmission lines. D 30 deg.-60 deg. Anchor tower for river crossing
10
Purpose Of Using Different Tower
1. Tangent Suspension tower and it is generally A – type tower. 2. Angle tower or tension tower or sometime it is called section tower. All B, C and D types of transmission towers come under this category.

13
Role Of Route Alignment & Survey
The routing of the transmission line is most economical from the point of view of construction and maintaince. Thus optimal route should be used. Routing of transmission line through protected/reserved forest area should be avoided. The route should have minimum crossings of Major river, Railway lines, National/State highways. The number of angle points should be minimum. It is preferable to utilize level ground for the alignment. Crossing of power lines should be minimum.
14
Role Of Soil For The Foundation
Normal Dry Sandy Dry Soil Wet Nd-To be used for locations where normal dry cohesive or non-cohesive soils are met. Sd-To be used for locations where cohesion less pure sand or sand with clay content less than 10% met in dry condition Wt-Where sub-soil water is met between 1.5 meters and the depth of foundation below the ground level
15
Role Of Stringing www.engineersportal.in
1.The machine is suitable to string one rope or one conductor. 2.The bull-wheel grooves are made up of high resistance interchangeable nylon sectors. 3.The machine is completely electronically controlled.

Safety Systems And Safety Indices
Objectives Establish and define chain of command for resolution of all hazards prevention issues Define individual hazards prevention and safety promotion responsibilities at each level of the construction team. Identifying highly hazardous operations within the scope of work and specify integrated preventive measures to mitigate the same.
