The 5 Elements of a Story Puzzle Literacy Connection: Comprehension

Materials needed:
Picture book
Six puzzle pieces, each with a different element of a story on it
Marker
Tape
Colored pencils
Laptop, only if you need to watch flocabulary video
As a group, read the picture book in the station basket (each group will read a different book).
Together determine: plot, setting, character, theme, conflict, and narrator. Fill out the puzzle pieces found in the binder using the black marker. NOTE: If you have trouble remembering what the definitions of the 5 elements of a story are, review:
Put the six puzzle pieces together to form a gardening picture.
Color with colored pencils, if you have time.
Clean up station area.
