Senior Court Wall Caroline McDonald, Rachel Bowyer, Kathy Bui, Sandy Twetten

The senior court is an area we all had access to this year. Many of us used this area to eat lunch outside, play hacky sack, and just hangout with our friends. We decided we wanted to add our own mark in senior court, representing and remembering the class of 2015.
3
Last year, graduating students painted a similar mural on the wall adjacent to ours. We decided to continue on with their idea and hope to make it a tradition, having next years graduating class paint their mural next to ours.

The Process
5
We started with a bare brick wall. Before painting, we had to sand and power wash the wall in order for the paint to last longer. Then, we painted the wall with two coats of eggshell white low luster exterior paint.
6
This was the wall with one layer of paint.
7
We borrowed a Viking head stencil from Mr. Kelican and used it as a guide while painting. The photo on the right is the finished product.
8
After 72 hours of demanding labor in adverse conditions, our group has finished the mural in senior court and is excited to share with Loudoun Valley’s Class of 2015.
9
Started with 100 bricks, now we’ve got this mural.
