Regional Discussion AEYC Board Members with Expired Memberships ▫Affiliate Council decided that each state was responsible for having board members in their state maintain current NAEYC membership. Meeting Format: Is Now the Time to Make Changes Based on the National Dialogue? ▫A workgroup was formed to explore potential changes to the Affiliate Council’s traditional meeting format. Direct Deposit Affiliates respond with 75% completed bank account and routing numbers from last year’s campaign New dimension; voided checks or deposit slip to ensure accuracy in internal control 26 Affiliate test completed before conference

Direct Deposit Post Conference – high priority from our Finance and IT departments. Complete work incrementally across the country. ▫The work will include a campaign to receive voided check and deposit slip info. Integration with Affiliate login page and email ▫Plan to move payments to EFT as bank account information is validated for accuracy.

Roles & Functions June 2011 Meeting ▫Affiliate Council approved the following recommendation: Reorganize the current business practice section of each Roles and Functions report (local and state) based upon association industry standards for a national organization with components similar to NAEYC. Launch Date: December 2011 with Affiliate Council approval in November 2011. ▫Reorganization underway, will include hyperlinks to resources such as the IRS for further understanding and support ▫Little if any change to the format will be required

Membership A seasoned association executive and accomplished membership expert Mark Levin, CAE, president of BAI, Inc., Columbia, Maryland, cautions associations not to get caught up in the "membership model mix-up." When membership numbers are down, many organizations are quick to question their membership models and start making changes — mixing things up — without identifying the real problem.
