2. aiia : voice of the digital economy Background This document outlines the AIIA’s strategy for the Health Special Interest Group (SIG) for the next 12 to 24 months. It has been developed in consultation with members of the eHealth SIG and represents the priorities identified by members in the health environment moving forward. Issues driving the development of this Strategy include: Member requirement for AIIA to broaden its health focus; Continuing rapid pace of change in the health sector; The potential for transformation of the health sector leveraging ICTs. 2 The purpose of the Strategy is to: Articulate the priority areas of focus for AIIA’s Health SIG over the next 12 to 24 months; Focus the discussions and activities of the AIIA Health SIG; Identify the key actions AIIA will undertake in relation to health over the specified time period.
