4 Don't Take First Job First job lays important groundwork for future n Often psychological barrier to leaving a job n Plan, don't just jump at first opportunity

5 Long-Term Goal is to Avoid Burnout! Avoid becoming complacent n External influences n Assess environmental differences from school to work

6 Career Advancement Probably Measured in Years Promotions cause chain reactions n Longer time frame between promotions as you progress upward
