Bush promised to deliver “one of the largest reconstruction efforts the nation has ever seen.” Nothing was implicated to get New Orleans residents who needed assistance back on their feet Low-income residents could have cleared the rubble through a government funded job Instead, they hired construction companies who used 100,000 immigrants who received very low pay and poor living conditions Department of labor failed to monitor and enforce work conditions Many argued that the reconstruction of Mississippi was favored by the Bush administration because most of MI’s public officials were republican
