5
How to play To begin, each player takes thirteen tiles. In turn players draw and discard tiles until they complete a legal hand using the fourteenth tile drawn to form four groups (melds) and a pair (head). Check your combinations. There are fairly standard rules about how a piece is drawn, or stolen from another player and thus added or “melded” into the hand.
6
Melds When a player plays a tile that you have 2 of, you can “peng” that person immediately. You don’t need to wait your turn.
7
The first way to Kong is like Pong. When a player plays a tile that you have 3 of, you can “Kong” that person immediately. You don’t need to wait your turn.
8
The second way to Kong: After pong, you draw the 4th tile that matches your pong, you lay the tile down. You can lay the tile down immediately or wait for your next turn.
9
The third way to Kong: Before discarding, a player who has all four matching tiles in their hand may declare a kong.
10
The meld must be in absolute numerical sequence. You need to wait your turn to play Chow.
