A look at Andy Warhol

Pop Art Andy Warhol is best known for his brightly colored paintings and prints His shapes really stand out and are usually a part of modern life and culture.

Andy’ Childhood Andy was a natural artist and his mother encouraged him to draw. Andy was often sick as a child which gave him a great deal of time to rest in bed, color, read his favorite comic books and listen to the radio. Andy also loved movies.

Art Classes Although Andy’s family did not have a great deal of money, they sent him to art college where he studied design and illustration. He developed an unusual art style that involved drawing subjects in pencil, tracing it in ink, and then pressing the picture down onto a clean sheet of paper.

He begins to sell his art….

The Sweet Taste of Success! He drew paintings that were beautifully designed and he asked people for ideas.

His legacy ~ Andy Warhol’s life was filled with excitement. He was always in the news for different reasons. He was wealthy and a famous artist by the time he died in 1987…just liked he always hoped to be.
