Use the French the pupils know and look for opportunities to use things like days of the week, weather, simple exclamations, greetings etc. 2.Use props, pictures and actions to explain things. Where the language can be too complicated, just show what you mean instead.

9. Choosing a story 1.Pick something simple – picture books are good as they include lots of repetition 2. Or…known stories are good so long as you can keep it simple. E.g. fairy tales, aesops fables etc. 3. Invent your own! Theme it around a topic e.g. the weather or food and drink etc.
