1.  4 types of sentences:  Imperative  Exclamatory  Interrogative  Declarative

2.  The speaker gives a command or makes a request. Most imperative sentences end with a period. A strong command ends with an exclamation point.  (You) Be quiet during the play.

3.  A sentence that shows excitement or expresses strong feeling. This type of sentence will end with an exclamation mark.  I love Auburn football!

4.  Interrogative sentences ask questions; you will always use a question mark.  Will you please be quiet?

5.  The speaker is making a statement and ends with a period.  I want to go to Colorado this winter.

6.  1. Imperative: Be quiet during the play. 2. Exclamatory: I can’t wait until Saturday! 3. Interrogative: Can I borrow a quarter? 4. Declarative: I need to go to the store after school.
