2. Today we are going to learn about the types of sentences. What is a sentence?

3. A sentence is a group of words that makes sense. A sentence expresses a complete thought. A sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a symbol. A sentence has at least one verb an action word. Example: Sam went to the store.

4. Interrogative Exclamatory Imperative Declarative The Four Kinds of Sentences

5. Declarative Sentence. Examples: A declarative sentence makes a statement. It ends with a period (.).  The boy is happy.  The people are running.

6. Interrogative Sentence. Examples: An interrogative sentence asks a question. It ends with a question mark(?). Who is your teacher? Have you ever seen a flying fish? Examples

7. Imperative Sentence. An imperative sentence gives an order. It ends with a period OR an exclamation point. Go to your room!Stop. Examples:

8. Exclamatory Sentence Examples: An exclamatory sentence expresses strong feelings. It ends with an exclamation point. Hooray! Wow! That’s great news!

9. Yes-no interrogatives Alternative interrogatives Text Types of interrogative sentences:- Wh- interrogatives Are you busy now? Is this room numb er 22 or 24? Who are you?

10. Four Kinds of Sentences 3. Imperative- (.), (!) gives a command. 4. Exclamatory- (!) shows strong feeling or emotions. 2.Interrogative- (?) asks a question. 1. Declarative- (.), (!) makes a statement.
