5 Maryland TAXMOD An incentive allowing Maryland forest landowners to deduct double the cost of reforestation and TSI from their federal adjusted gross income for Maryland income tax purposes. Total landowners488 Total Acreage76,955

8 Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) 2004 funding: $204,417 Forestry practices now funded through NRCS: – Replanting – Site prep/spray – Timber Stand Improvement – Shelterbelts (incl. poultry houses)

9 Improving technical service delivery This GIS / ArcView map template is our newly implemented map for all forest stewardship plans.

10 Spatial Analysis Project GIS model of benefits from forest land to help prioritize activities for the Stewardship Program Maryland one of 4 pilot States 12 data layers Designed to help direct limited resources to areas of greatest environmental need based on resource potential and threats.
