2 Time Line 5000 BC – 250 BC 5000 BC: earliest evidence of human culture in Mesopotamia. 3400 BC:Gawra and Ninevite periods. 2700 BC first Sumerians dynasty of Ur. 2340-2125 BC Sargon I begins the Akkadians. 2100-1800 BC third Sumerian dynasty.

3 FOOD Flax was used by the Mesopotamians in the production of nets, cloth, linseed oil, meal, and many pharmaceuticals. Date palms were also a very important food source to the Mesopotamians. Some of these other crops included leeks,onions,lentils, wheat, and barley.

4 RULERS The rulers are Ashurbaniel 668-627bc Nammburbi 1792-1750bc Nebuched-nezzer2 604-562bc

5 TRAVEL Mesopotamians travel by animals, or foot Mesopotamians were nomads so the travel by foot a lot.

6 MONEY They used the barter system instead of money.

7 CLOTHING Men were bare chested and wore skirt like garments. Women usually wore gowns that cover them from their shoulders to their ankles. Men and women usually wore earrings and necklaces.

8 HOUSING Some of them lived in hut like housing. And some lived in temples.

9 GOVERMENT Hammurbi ruled from 1792-1750bc, had the laws inscribed on stone steel which he placed in various temples throughout his realm.

10 EXTRA The land that was once marshes and channels that proved food, protection, and life for the people that no longer exists.
