5. What is Sociology? Sociology is the study of the social world, and the behaviour of humans in a variety of situations. Several aspects of human behaviour are studied, creating an understanding of society in a changing world. Sociologists study a wide range of topics including class, gender, schools, childhood, power, media, social mobility, crime and poverty.
