CET Designer history: KCID450 – Senior Studio A – Spring 2013 Course description: Problem solving for mid-size office project, preparation for Interior Design Qualification problem solving, application of historical building information in project solutions. Goals of the Course: The student will be able to: Manage and produce inter and/or intra-disciplinary team solution for mid-size office project. Demonstrate professional communication skills Apply design process to interior spaces, incorporating details for the complete volume of space. Present to industry professionals.

6. CET Designer strategy: Series of exercises that expose students to the technology and have them explore the capabilities and the variety of furniture options. CET Designer Exercise #1 – step by step instructions to build a few spaces using the Walls extension and furniture space planning together. Each student then adds to that assignment independently and submits. * Tip – use of a LMS will allow students to submit electronically without file size issues. Ethernet connections are encouraged for large file sizes.

8. CET Designer exercise #2: Students develop typical open office workstation settings. This has them exploring the furniture application options and further experiencing the technology.

14. CET Designer learn from my mistakes: Expectations for installation… The first semester, I had the students build ALL of the architecture in CET Designer. Originally I had 3 exercises and combined the rendering with the report. CET Designer is better in smaller bits.
