4 Below are the eight Pathways in Family & Consumer Sciences Education: Child Development Consumer Economics Services Family and Human Services Fashion Design, Manufacturing and Merchandising Food Science, Dietetics and Nutrition Food Service and Culinary Arts Hospitality Services Interior Design

6  Demonstrate professional lettering and mounting techniques.  Present examples of the elements of design and explain each concept in writing.  Create a color wheel identifying primary, secondary, and tertiary/intermediate colors  Create tints, tones and shades.  Create or present visual examples of major color schemes.  Present examples of the principles of design and explain each concept in writing.  Identify and Label common floor plan symbols.  Label a floor plan with the three basic living zones and indicate the functions of each zone.  Using a floor plan, create a furniture arrangement incorporating principles and elements of design and space planning.

7 ALL SUPPLIES SHOULD BE LABELD WITH YOUR NAME/PERIOD. Supplies may be kept in a class tote bin or kept in a ziplock bag in your binder. They are to be with you every class period.  *1.5 – 2” binder – to be used for this class only  *Good eraser (pink pearl or kneaded eraser) {$.25}  *6 Dividers (Labeled: class procedures, unit 1, unit 2, unit 3, unit 4, and unit 5)  *Sharp Pencil (mechanical pencils work well. Have back up pencil lead) {$.10}  *Lined notebook paper  *1 set of colored pencils {$1.25}  *1 small bottle of rubber cement or 2 glue sticks {$.75 cement or $.50 stick}  *12 inch ruler {$.50}  *Scissors {$1.50}  *1 Black fine tip Sharpie marker {$.50}  *One (1) Housing Magazine (HOME, Architectural Digest, Interior Design, House Beautiful, etc)  Matt or Foam Core Presentation Board - DUE by end of semester for FINAL PROJECT  Bag of Candy for gingerbread houses  OPTIONAL: (I will have white and black for you to use) White, black, and/ or colored Construction or cardstock paper. {$.04 p/sheet}  You may purchase these items from the school by paying the bookkeeper the listed amount and giving me the receipt. I will then give you your supplies. *** PLEASE see me if getting the above supplies is an issue ***

9  attend class and be on time  use appropriate language and actions  complete assignments on time  display a positive attitude  work well with others  respect the rights and property of others  clean up their work space  come to class prepared.  be involved in class activities and discussions

10  All School policies and procedures will be followed and enforced.  All make-up work and tests are to be completed and turned in by the final acceptance date (next EO Day) for credit.  Late work is accepted until the EO day following the Unit test, but will receive 10% off the full points.  Food and drink are only to be brought to class on Food Day Friday.

Tried an idea that worked out adequately, lacked originality, no personal touch. Little evidence of original thought. Not included Effort and Perseverance Continued until it was complete, effort given far beyond that required, showed personal pride in work. Worked hard and completed the requirements. With more time and attention it would have been outstanding. 12  ► Due to recent concern regarding the Family Education Right to Privacy Act (FERPA), this is to let you know that some of the student’s assignments might be corrected by other students under the direction to the teacher. Students are advised that confidentiality and honesty are of the utmost importance. Any violation of such will be dealt with administratively. We might be looking at each other’s work.
