4. Interrogative Sentences
An interrogative sentence asks a question. It ends with a question mark.
May I borrow your newspaper?
Did you turn the light off?
What is your favorite song?
Do you ride the bus?
Have you ever visited New York City?

5. Imperative Sentences
An imperative sentence gives a command or makes a request. It ends with a period. The subject of a command or request is always you, even if it is not in the sentence.
Please bring the pizza to the table.
Mom, please tie my shoes.
Mark, do all of your homework before you go out to play.
Do ten push-ups and twenty jumping jacks.
Open your mouth.

An exclamatory sentence expresses a strong feeling. It ends with an exclamation mark.
Happy birthday, Tom!
Banana splits are the best desserts!
What a beautiful rose!
Ouch, that hurt!
