7. 7 President Bush’s FY 09 Budget  President introduced budget on February 4  Department of Education funded at $52.9 billion (essentially level funding)  Budget eliminates 47 education programs and sharply reduces 11 others (a $4 billion cut)  Department of Labor budget cut as well
