Background and History Resolution of the Navajo Nation Council CJY-34-92 Mandating the Creation of an Open Information Environment Among all N.N. Governmental Entities Resolution of the Navajo Nation Council CAP-30-02 Supporting the Development of an Integrated Criminal Justice System and Mandating Cooperation and Coordination in its Development Byrne Grant Received and Consultant Report Issued on 10/31/2007 Report confirms the feasibility for an integrated system and suggested budget requirements over a five year timeframe.

Background and History (Cont) Report recommended hiring of a full- time project manager to over see and spearhead efforts for a successful coordination of efforts among the entities and a satisfactory system implementation.

Current Status Project Manager Hired July 21 st as Fulltime Employee TOC Meeting Bi-monthly Funding Established for FY’09 Totaling $1,100,000. Grants $600,000 & Capital Improvements Budget $500,000. Workflows from DC Partially Complete RFP Draft Under Review by Technical Team Release Date for RFP in Early November Goal to Award RFP in Late Jan. – Early Feb.

Project Health The project is tracking to expectations at this time. With a full-time Project Manager now on board, goals for the fiscal year 2009 will be met with the funding now in place and the assumptions of no unplanned significant expenses and continued focus to the project.
