2.  One of the Women’s main goals was to live without fear for their life of freedom. This was because women back then didn’t have the rights to vote, or to own property.  Another major goal for the women was to have the rights to privacy, marriage, family life, political rights, and equality.  Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton formed the National Women Suffrage Association in May, 1869. The primary goal of the organization is to achieve voting rights for women by means of a congressional amendment to the Constitution.

3.  Key people in the women’s rights movement include Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Sarah Grimke, and Elizabeth Blackwell.  Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton all met at the world anti slavery convention in London, England where they were all kicked out for being women.  Sarah Grimke was one of the first women to speak in public.  Susan B. Anthony fought so hard she was arrested for voting in the 1872 presidential election. Anthony was also the first women to have her face put on a coin.  Elizabeth Stanton was presented at the first women’s rights convention in Seneca falls.

4.  One method that they used was that they gave speeches to the public. They did that because they knew that the rest of the people had a say in weather or not women should have a right to vote.  Another method is that they had street dancers and bonfires. They had that kind of activity because it attracted all kinds of people. Some talked about what their opinion was and some just listened, one person that spoke out a lot was Susan B. Anthony. She talked out to the public tried to get them to agree that not letting women vote was wrong.  Also they went to different conventions and they talked to whoever showed up and tried to get them to agree with them, but only so many of them showed up and there was only about 140 women and around 50 men at each convention.

5.  The Seneca Falls convention occurred in 1848 over 300 people attended 40 of them were men.  1890 the National American Women's Suffrage Association is formed.  1893 Colorado is the first state to allow women to vote.  1920 the 19 th amendment is made giving all women the right to vote.  1973 abortion becomes legal in a 7-2 vote in the case Roe vs. Wade.
