Barometer A Barometer is an instrument that measures the air pressure. If you read the barometer and it is high then the skies are fair.

Thermometer It is used to measure the temperature of the air. When it is hot out side the mercury in the thermometer rises. When it is cold out side the mercury goes down.

Anemometer It measures how fast the wind is going. There are little cups at the top. If wind blows into them the cups will spin around.

Hygrometer They are used to measure the humidity in the air. Humidity is just the water vapor in the air. The water vapor depends on the air temperature.

Rain Gauge You can measure rain with a rain gauge. Rain is a kind of precipitation that a rain gauge can measure.

Weather Vane A weather vane shows where the wind is heading. It has a N,S,E and W. If the wind is blowing the weather vane will spin and it will show the wind directoin.
