Background  Enterprise Resource Portals (ERPs) have dominated the enterprise market  Business owners are way more ‘optimistic’ than they should be about such systems  High investments often fail to provide reasonable returns in some cases  Lack of enterprise mobile systems in the Pakistani market

3. The problem  Approval of decisions require constant connectivity  Company executives are prone to go on vacations and as a result all of such activities that require their approval are put on hold  No ‘direct’ way of notifying when such an event takes place

Our proposed solution  A mobile application that accesses the ERP module that deals with event permissions and requests  A layer that securely ‘pulls’ and ‘pushes’ the required information and enables synchronization  Eliminates the possibility of security breaches as well as system performance lags  Enterprise Mobility

Our project  An Android application that provides ERP access to a deployed Microsoft Dynamics AX instance and notifies whenever the user receives a request for approval  A custom designed middle layer based on.NET framework which consists of a REST and SOAP API. REST communicates with the app and SOAP communicates with Microsoft Dynamics.

Justifications : why android ?  In South Asia, Android is the most popular Mobile OS outside of North America  Belonging to the category of open source, the online community can help us a lot in debugging that will be required while developing the app.  Android’s compatibility with.NET framework is more as compared to iOS.
