(1) Class set of Student Response System clickers, supporting software/technical assistance & training in formative as-sessment. (2) Earn 130 CPDUs in Year 1 of the program! (3) TI-Nspire CX Handheld - color graphing calculator with select probes. (4) STEM-related books for workshop activities. (5) Meals provided during summer workshops and follow-up meetings. (6) Stipend of $100 per day for 10 days! (7) Training in Action Re-search. (8) Opportunities for funded conference travel to present Action Research (Year 2 benefit).

1. Tonight’s orientation meeting. 2. Ten-day 2012 summer institute: July 9-13, 16-20, 2012.

3. Attend three in-person follow-up meetings and one online follow- up meeting (TBA). 4. Ten-day 2013 summer institute (dates TBA). 5. Complete initial and follow-up surveys, questionnaires, pre-post tests for of program evaluation and empirical research. 6. Participate in on-line Effective Formative Assessment (EFAST) modules. 7. Share lessons/units for use by other teachers. 8. Serve as a teacher-leader in the district or school. 9. Implement Student Response Systems during 2012-2013. 10. Implement STEM technology (TI-Nspire graphing calculators and probes) during the 2012-2013 school year. 11. Perform an Action Research Project in the classroom 2012-13. 12. Complete the necessary Institutional Review Board (IRB) training in order to perform Action Research in the classroom.

Collecting data on your students (pre-post- tests) is a requirement of ISBE. Additional research opportunities – Dr. Szyjka.
