2 2 The New Combined Regulator HMRI is the industry health and safety regulator Merged into the Office of Rail Regulation in April 2006 ORR is now the Economic and Health & Safety Regulator HMRI is still the front line field force for health and safety HQ 1 Kemble Street, London Inspectors in regional offices as before

6 6 Looking on the Bright Side! Certain parts of the industry already perform well Recent evidence of progress on HAVS Musculoskeletal disorders But Industry must keep up the good work Further improvements required

7 7 What next? Identification of priority areas by individual dutyholders, including Better data collection Making better use of stakeholders Sharing of knowledge and expertise Identification and promotion of case studies on good practice
