3 1st Vice President’s Report Ron Ring March Madness Party March 21st Fund Raiser Results Slate of Officers

4 Section 1: Nominating Committee In March, a Nominating Committee will be established consisting of at least three members, with at least one member being a non-officer. This committee will prepare a slate of nominees for the following year’s officers, and present it at the April business meeting of the general membership. Nominations from the floor will also be accepted at the April meeting provided they receive a second. No person will be nominated without first agreeing to serve if elected. Section 2: Election Meeting The election of officers for the following year will take place at the May business meeting of the general membership.

BEE Athletic Boosters Meeting March 2, 2015 Attendees: Dan Kalinsky, Chip Bell, Jennifer Starinsky, Mary Grace Dimitrijevs, JoAnn Farwell, Tim Frajter, Ron Ring, John Graham, Karen Graham, Suzanne Sorige, Cindy Klaus, Baljeet Khosa Seibert, Catherine Wurts, Julie Sebalos, Nancy Schlabig, Dave Frederick and Mark Wirkus. President, Beth O’Donnell, called the meeting to order at 7:10. President, Beth O’Donnell: Welcome to everyone in attendance. Thank you to Ron Ring and Chip Bell for speaking at Winter Sports Banquet and Meet the Bees. Tonight we will get updates on March Madness fundraiser which is March 21. First Vice President, Ron Ring: March 21 is the March Madness fundraiser. Sign up genius is set up for volunteers. There are still slots that need to be filled. The menu has been set at the same rate as last year. Dave speck is getting sound system for fund-raiser. Baskets are getting dropped off. They have some great items and good variety. Booze basket and wagon are being assembled. A suggestion was made that silent auction items be featured in weekly Google blasts to boosters to create interest and excitement. The games include: black jack, 50/50 raffle, corn hole, basketball shoot out, and march madness bracket game.

8 ..Set up will begin at 10:00 am. Beer will be provided (3 kegs), but guests may bring their own wine. Nominating committee needs 1 person that is NOT on the executive committee. A total of 3 people are needed to complete the nominating process. Chip Bell, JoAnn Farwell, and Baljeet Khosa Seibert volunteered for nominating committee. Nominating committee will have meetings to create slate of candidates and make phone calls to confirm nominations. The slate of officers will then be presented at April general meeting for a vote. Second Vice President, Chip Bell: Website has been updated. Google blasts are going out regularly. Secretary, Mary Grace Dimitrijevs: Nothing to report. Ron Ring made a motion to approve the February Regular minutes. Jennifer Starinsky seconded the motion. A voice vote was held. The motion carried. Treasurer, JoAnn Farwell: Total equity is approximately $26,000. Very little financial activity this month. A $300 check for the district wrestling tournament hospitality room was presented. Teri Speck made a motion to approve the February financial report. Dave Frederick seconded the motion. A voice vote was held. The motion carried. Membership, Julie Seballos: Nothing to report.

9 Team Reports, Jennifer Starinsky: The swim teams were SWC champs. The boys took 7 th in the state tournament and girls took 12 th place. Boys had relay teams that took 1 st and 3 rd places. Anna Coronel took 7 th place in the backstroke. Gymnastics team was 1 st in districts. State tournament is March 6. Girls’ track team has 4 girls going to indoor state track meet. High School Athletic Director, Dan Kalinsky: Congratulations to the swim teams. The boys took 1 st place at the state tournament for the first time in Brecksville history. The wrestling team took first place in the duals state tournament. They won their 10 th straight SWC championship. All 14 wrestlers qualified for districts. The gymnastics team is going for their 12 th straight state championship. A spirit bus will be going from the high school for the day on Friday. The girls’ basketball team is done. They lost in the sectionals. Boys’ basketball team plays on Wed. at BBHHS. Bob Evans fundraiser is March 13. Half of bill goes to turf and half goes to team that customer selects. Reservations are required. A discussion was held as to how best communicate how fundraising dollars are spent. Each coach has that information and can share with inquiring parents.

10 . Allocation Requests: Dan Kalinsky made an allocation request for $30,000 to go towards the turf-resurfacing project. Jen Starinsky made a motion to donate $30,000 to the turf project. Mark Wirkus seconded the motion. A voice vote was held. The motion carried. The executive board approved $300 donation for the wrestling hospitality room for the district meet. The executive board approved a $35.78 banner that says, “Compliments of Bees Athletic Boosters”. The banner will hang at hospitality room and can be used at future events. Old Business: Earth Day lacrosse and Easter Seals event will be April 24-25. The Easter Seals fundraiser will be combined with metal recycling to raise funds for the athletic boosters. Volunteers will be needed to man the truck. New Business: The golf outing will be August 28 at Briarwood Golf Course. THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE AT 7:00 ON APRIL 13 IN THE MEDIA CENTER OF THE HIGH SCHOOL. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.

11 BEE Athletic Boosters Executive Meeting March 2, 2015 Attendees: Beth O’Donnell, Dan Kalinsky, JoAnn Farwell, Jennifer Starinsky, Chip Bell, Julie Sebalos, and Ron Ring. President, Beth O’Donnell, called the meeting to order at 8:23. Items discussed: The $30,000 for turf project was approved at general meeting. That is great news. The nominating committee needs to meet to begin putting together the slate of officers for next year. A discussion was held as to the necessity of having 3 people share the concessions position. The duties could be divided as follows: volunteer scheduler, food purchaser, and event attendee. Perhaps the 50/50 responsibilities could fall under a different board position. The athletic booster scholarships for student athletes need to be coordinated. THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE APRIL 13 AT 7:00 IN THE MEDIA CENTER. The meeting was adjourned at 9:06 P.M.
