6 Her father wants her to go to school and get her education in the traditional way The source of the antagonism

7 Sameer’s pursuit of her education in her own way is proving to be effective in respect of academic achievement But...

8 In the virtual world she has risen to the top and will graduate high school with a world ranking in the top 2%

9 Her pursuit of an education in the virtual world defies the state’s laws of truancy and her father is being pursued by the authorities over her lack of attendance However...

10 Dad puts out an assassination contract on Sameer’s virtual identity, which is awarded Zhang So...

11 Zhang attacks Sameer’s virtual identity and fails. He turns to the real world and sets out to complete the contract in the real world. A new antagonism emerges

12 Conflict leads to struggle, which develops character.

13 Obstacles force Sameer to re-evaluate

14 In the virtual world, Uncle Neville prevents her from taking a wrong turn. He trains her in what she needs to know about the terrain so she can deal with the shadowy threat of Zhang and his virtual thugs

15 Uncle Neville supports Sameer’s pursuit of her virtual accreditation. He is in opposition to Dad.

16 To survive the attack on her life, which is driven by a motivation to have freedom over her life; freedom to live as she sees fit What is the protagonist’s goal?

24 In the real world, the crossing into the mythological woods occurs when Dad announces he is going to Dubai for two weeks, and tells Sameer she is to board at school. But she chooses to escape before Dad leaves. The Portal
