1
The Rights and Responsibilities of Voting By Tommy Knockenhauer
2
When voting, you have the right to share your opinion. Just because you have the right to share your opinion on who you think should become the president, doesnt mean you you dont have to follow responsibilities. One of the biggest responsibilities is registering to vote, you cant just walk into the town hall and say that your going to vote! You have to register to become a voter.
3
You have the right to vote when you turn 18 years old. One of the best parts of turning 18 is getting the right to vote. At the same time, you cant abuse that right, you still have responsibilities. Just because you are still very young, you still have to respect others choices and treat others with respect.
4
You have the right to be treated with respect while voting. You having the right to be treated fairly while voting mostly falls on other people following there responsibilities. Though, if people arent treating you fairly, it doesnt give you the right to be disrespectful back. Politely asking them to be respectful is a good choice.
5
You have the right to vote even if you have a mental illness Having the right to vote and you have a mental illness is something under the Vermont constitution. Other states might not give you the right to vote if you have a mental illness. Vermont also gives you the right to vote if youve been convicted of a felony.
6
Knowledge and Experiences of being a voter. Experiences and good knowledge can really help while voting.Having a voting history (class president for example) can help when knowing how to vote. Knowing the amendments of the US constitution (15 th, 19 th, 26 th ) that have to do with voting is good knowledge. Doing research on the candidates also really helps.
