EDUCE final meeting, Krakow 1-3.10.2003Alkis Bais, AUTh UV Activity Activity leaders: A. Bais, G. Seckmeyer Objectives –Exploitation of UV measurements at selected stations to estimate UV variability including the role of clouds, aerosol and ozone. –Field campaign to provide homogenized UV and all relevant ancillary measurements to achieve quantitative description of UV modulation by aerosols and clouds. –UV predictions using coupled chemistry-climate and radiative transfer models, including simulation of future UV risk scenarios and risk assessment of UV effects.

EDUCE final meeting, Krakow 1-3.10.2003Alkis Bais, AUTh Project schedule Tentative time frame 1 January 2004 – 31 December 2009 Detailed plan exists for first 18 months The project is evaluated every year (GO or NO GO decision at the middle of the project) Reconsideration of tasks (and even partners and funding) is possible after each evaluation Partners with secured national funding can be considered for joining the project Depending on campaign planning, new partners may be needed to join WP3, (internal reallocation of funding may be necessary)
