SWEL WORKSHOP@ITS 08 Ontology-based Learning Resource Repositories 6 Ubiquitous Learning Context? Context = situational information –any info to characterize the situation of an entity relevant to user--application interaction Different application domains ~ different needs and requirements – different interpretations of “context”
7
SWEL WORKSHOP@ITS 08 Ontology-based Learning Resource Repositories 7 Ubiquitous Learning Context ? mobile learning context = learning context captured with regards to its delivery medium, i.e., the mobile devices. – Learning context = learners +LOs + pedagocial approach

SWEL WORKSHOP@ITS 08 Ontology-based Learning Resource Repositories 17 Context Capturing a LO repository + a context repository – each LO in LO repository ~ context data in m- LOCO based repository of LOC How to capture this context-related data? LO selection from the LO repository by learners System intelligently suggests and delivers LOs to learners gather and store all related contextual data in LOC Repository.

20
SWEL WORKSHOP@ITS 08 Ontology-based Learning Resource Repositories 20 Usage Scenarios : Q2 pair a learner during each activity with peers who are directly/indirectly linked to her in her social connections and, – are performing the same activity (e.g. performance) –in the same subject domain

22
SWEL WORKSHOP@ITS 08 Ontology-based Learning Resource Repositories 22 Usage Scenarios : Q3 learner is asking for assistance/help for a specific topic during an activity enhancing social collaboration ? refer the learner to those peers in her social links –whose level of skill makes them eligible to temporarily play the role of an assistant –in that subject domain
