They compared National Standards in Art and World Language … then modified class schedules by blocking the time into one longer class period …enlisted the help of Board of Ed., administrators and community…

BENEFITS STUDENTS AND TEACHERS BY… reducing interruptions reducing level of stress for students and teachers longer time frame to apply knowledge longer time to demonstrate and develop skills and behaviors teachers could nurture relationships with students more time for group activities, processing and reflection

larger proportions of student continued to upper level Spanish and upper level Art compared to the traditional classes higher achievement in Art, Spanish, Public Speaking classes, school wide art shows students observed positive collaboration between adult teachers no D’s or F’s RESULTS
