3. Mrs. Holden taught us about the solar system. There are 13 planets all together. She told us that there are 8 main planets and 5 dwarf planets. There is also a cool saying that she taught us to remember all of the main planets. The saying is My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nachos. The Sun is not a planet it is a star.

4. In social studies we learned about maps. Maps have a rural so you can figure out what the different symbols mean. There are 5 Great Lakes on a map. The rural shows you how many people live in each town or state. There are also many different ranges when you look at a map. We have two main mountains in the United States.

5. In science we learned about microscopes. There are two main people that Mrs. Holden taught us about, these people were Anton Leeuwenhoek and Robert Hooke. Hooke also drew a diagram of a flea. Anton Leeuwenhoek examined a fly. I learned many things from these two men.

6. In social studies we learned about the American flag. It has 6 white and 7 red stripes. It also has 50 stars which I thought was a lot. It only had 13 stars in its original version.

7. In science we learned about microscopes. We viewed many different things, such as a fish scale, an ant, and a piece of salt. I think that the ant was a little fascinating. We also watched a video that I thought was a little freaky.

8. Ms.Jones taught us about the 5 main oceans. The oceans are Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Southern Ocean. Did you know that there is only one gulf that is the Gulf of Mexico. My favorite ocean is the Atlantic Ocean since it is the only ocean that I swim in.
