3 VISION SAIs around the world should perceive the ISSAIs as their primary source of guidance to public sector auditing, and the audit community per se should have a clear perception of INTOSAI’s approach to public sector auditing MISSION The PSC is aiming to ensure that SAIs and relevant external partners are familiar with the ISSAI Framework and the benefits associated with the application of auditing standards that have been developed specifically for public sector auditing Awareness raising CAS september 2011

Definition of the unique selling points of the ISSAIs. 5. How to utilize the IDI database of local trainers. 6. Language as an obstacle to awareness raising (website, etc.). 7. Adherence to the ISSAIs promotes transparency in the public sector and adds Credibility to our work as auditors; improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the work of SAIs and provide the basis for high Quality audits; increases the perceived level of Professionalism of SAIs. 12 Awareness raising CAS september 2011

A need to speed up the work and include aspects of ISSAI implementation support; address middle management + operational level focus on all levels in the framework (not only level 4); Level 1 and 2 public sector accounting standards as relevant as auditing standards - INTOSAI should play a more active role gather experience on the ISSAI implementation progress in the PSC Secretariat and further knowledge sharing via the PSC website – and pass on knowledge and experience to the INTO-SAI regional secretariats; translate the awareness-raising material into French, Spanish and Arabic, in particular; ensure linkage to the work on “Value and benefits of SAIs”. 14 Awareness raising CAS september 2011

Plan; All members of CAS are to work in their SAIs and regions to collect practices and share training material and some members already have participated at several regional and local arrangements to promote the new international standards and discuss issues concerning implementation Status; Introducing the framework in our own SAIs Changing the SAIs laws and regulations to allow for compliance audit Arranging and taking active part in workshops and seminars - local or regional Awareness raising CAS september 2011 15

How to make use of the information in IDIs Stocktaking related to Compliance Audit - SAIs need in capacity building 5. Look at questions /special issues to raise in seminars etc 6. Translations on the CAS web site Sub-group: South-Africa, Namibia, Norway Status 1. Contributed to the Top managment presentation – will contribut to the managment level presentation (3-4 slides on the essens of compliance) 2. Starting the process – papers here – make use of our web-site 3. URGENT NEED 4. Use the report in preparations of the communication kit 5.
