State University of New York – American Red Cross Blood Partnership 2009 – 2010 Program

SUNY – Red Cross Scholarship Partnership for 09 - 10 *Each school that achieves collections growth as indicated below receives a scholarship in the amount indicated for a qualifying student: 1 % of enrollment gain: $250 2 % of enrollment gain: $1,000 3 % of enrollment gain: $1,500 4% and up of enrollment gain: $2,000 Example: If a school has an enrollment of 3,000 students, a 1% gain of 30 units would result in a $250 scholarship……a 2% gain of 60 units would be a scholarship of $1,000….etc.

How scholarship winners are chosen Must be an active member of a sponsor recruitment team in 2009 - 10 Suggested criteria: 1.Personally recruited a high number of donors. 2.Created a program to get new donors. 3.Helped find a new sponsor group…a bigger site…got faculty to donate, etc. But have fun with it! Each sponsor group decides who they’ll nominate!

Want to be a SUNY - Red Cross Partner? It’s easy! If your SUNY school is not currently a Red Cross partner, it’s easy to join the program! Example: If your SUNY school has an enrollment of 6,000…..and your school collects 60 units (1% of enrollment) of blood in 2009 – 10…..Then a student will win a $250 scholarship. Collect 120 units and the student scholarship jumps to $1,000……

For each school’s competitive side! Along with engraved plaques for schools that achieve the 2009 – 10 collections goals: 4 special SUNY CUPS will again be presented to Four-Year and Community College schools that achieve exceptional collections growth: HIGHEST % OF COLLECTIONS (Compared to enrollment) LARGEST UNIT OVERALL INCREASE OVER 2009 - 10
