Volunteerism by ES-COPRS ES-CORPS will be invited to participate in development opportunities in the community with special emphasis on Ebola response. – ES-CORPS Promoter (Recruiting ES) – ES-CORPS Educator (Community outreach) – ES-CORPS Health Facility Volunteer – ES-CORPS Blood Donor – ES-CORPD Research Volunteer

4. Some proposed development positions for ES-CORPS – ES-CORPS Promoter – ES-CORPS Educator – ES-CORPS Health Facility Volunteer – ES-CORPS Blood Donor – ES-CORPD Research Volunteer

5. ES-CORPS Promoter ES-COPRPS Promoter will canvass Ebola Survivors to join ES-COPRS. ES-COPRS promoters will function at two settings: – Hospital/health facility ES-CORPS promoter – Community ES-CORPS promoter ES-CORPS promoter should have knowledge about ES-COPRS initiative, communications skills and marketing skills. They should have promotional material on ES- CORPS initiative.

6. ES-CORPS Educator ES-COPRPS Educator will educate the community on EVD, its prevention and control. ES-COPRS promoters will function in the community. – House to house – Groups – Large gatherings ES-CORPS educator should have knowledge about EVD, it prevention and control and communication skills. They should have health education material.

7. ES-CORPS Health Facility Volunteer ES-COPRPS Health Facility Volunteer will assist the hospital team in clinical management of the EVD patients. ES-COPRS promoters will function in the health facilities and hospitals. ES-CORPS Health Facility Volunteers should have knowledge about the tasks that they are assigned to, self care and other relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes. They should have personal protective equipment.

8. ES-CORPS Volunteer Blood Donor ES-COPRPS Volunteer Blood Donor will donate blood for the treatment of EVD patients. ES-COPRS Volunteer Blood Donor will visit the health facilities as and when needed. ES-CORPS Volunteer Blood Donor will have knowledge about blood donation for example why blood donation is important, frequency of blood donation etc. They should have a record of blood donation with blood group.

9. ES-CORPS Research Participant ES-COPRPS Research Participant will participate in research related to EVD. ES-COPRS Research Participant will volunteer at the location where the research is being conducted. ES-CORPS Research Participant will have the knowledge about the research that they are participating in. They should have a record of research that they contribute to.

10. Compensation for Volunteer Activities by Ebola Survivors In certain communities, obtaining the participation of Ebola Survivors for volunteer activities may be poor. Solidarity packs given to them could be used in such cases to attract Ebola survivors for the program. Utmost care should be paid not to destroy the spirit of volunteerism by such compensation. Financial compensation will not a good way to motivate.
