7. PENNIES FOR PATIENTS Three years in a row NHS has participated in raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Pennies for Patients Program

8. WHY SELL PAPER PENNIES? To help others like Allie Survive and Beat Cancer.

9. AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES

10. -2 blood drives each year- one in the fall and one in the spring -How can you make a difference? -1.; You can work the blood drive on the designated day at HCHS -2. You can donate blood -3. You can do both NHS MEMBERS MAKE SAVING LIVES POSSIBLE

11. -In the past we have done Easter baskets for nursing homes -- We have participated in the Literacy Night Event -- We have collected goods for the backpack program -- We have collected food items for different organizations OTHER AREAS OF SERVICE

12. -Dues are 25.00 -All members need to complete 1 service project -Meetings are help in the Auditorium -Pay dues before the September 19 th meeting or make arrangements with Sponsor -Meeting Dates: -August 22 -September 19 -November 7 -December 5 LOGISTICS OF THE CLUB

13. OFFICER SELECTION Officers have not been chosen yet…. I am passing around a sheet to nominate a senior for each of the offices needed: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer I will verify with each person that they accept the nomination and they will be placed on a ballet for you to vote. Since we will not meet until September 19 th, each member will need to come to Mrs. Sidebottom’s Room to Vote Next Week, and announcement will be made.

15. -In the absence of president run the meetings -Assist the president in planning and scheduling events -Assist where needed in the meetings VICE PRESIDENT
