2 Preparation for college and other post secondary work Is essential for Texas students and our economy Number of students enrolling in Institutions of Higher Education and completing degree programs must increase for Texas to prosper in the future Many Texas students enrolled in Institutions of Higher Education require remediation to prepare for college level work What the Data Tells Us About: College Readiness

3 Higher Education Readiness Component (HERC) Percent met standard, where standards are scale scores of 2200 on Exit Level TAKS mathematics and ELA with a 3 on the writing component
