4. Police Vulnerable Sector Check You will need a PVSC for both your Alternative Placement and regular Placements. Begin the process of obtaining a police check by Monday August 17, 2015. Do Not Start Any Earlier!!!!! Deadline for receiving PVSC: Friday December 11, 2015.

5. Alternative Placement January 11-February 5, 2016 Practice Teaching Blocks February 8 – 26, 2016 (three weeks) February 29 - April 15, 2016 (six weeks) Will be requesting a placement in both divisions i.e. if you are a P/J student, will be requesting a primary and a junior placement. BUT could receive same placement for all nine weeks. It is crucial that students not go behind the scenes to look for a placement for themselves. PLEASE be patient. PRACTICUM

6. During term two you will not be required to come to campus for formal classes. You will be invited to attend the Education Job Fair usually scheduled the end of January. You will be given permission to be absent from your Alternative Placement for this day. PRACTICUM CONT’D

7. In September you will be able to apply for an International placement. International placements are normally for three weeks. The opportunity to participate is not guaranteed. We will provide students with an information session in September and discuss how to apply. PRACTICUM CONT’D

8. NEXT STEPS… Will receive Board Choice Form and Placement Information Form at our next meeting March 9, 11:30am Classroom 3. You will indicate interest in an International placement on the Board Choice Form. You will complete Placement Information by signing and dating the form. Return both forms to Sandra Minor by Monday April 10, 2015
